Spaghetti

Cucurbita pepo

Spaguetti squash is a large yellow squash with flesh that becomes long and stringy like spaguetti when cooked.

Description

It grows on a vine which creeps along exactly like zucchini, or cucumber.

The spaguetti squash when ripe is hard like a watermelon.

If you cut a raw spaguetti in half, it looks very similar to a pumpkin with in the center a core of large seeds.
But Spaguetti squashes shouldn't be cooked like a regular squash because it will be too stringy.

The squash needs to be cooked and then you can shred up the inside (it resembles spaguetti) and it tastes very similar to pasta.
